Everyone Is Here Already

We made a dash across London to the Persephone Bookshop in Notting Hill on Wednesday 1st July for the launch party of the very first issue of Everyone Is Here Already, a hip new comic book by one of our favourite illustrators Becky Barnicoat.

A cool crowd of writers, illustrators, book lovers and friends jostled for space in the small but perfectly formed bookshop, where wine and beer were served alongside monkey nuts and custard pies. We spilled onto the pavement to catch the last rays of the summer sun while Becky (looking enviably brown) filled us in on her weekend at Glastonbury Festival.

Then it was back into the shop for an impromptu music performance courtesy of two dandy looking chaps armed with an acoustic guitar and a mandolin.

We've been following Everyone Is Here Already on the blogosphere for quite some time now, delighting in the lively mix of satirical cartoons, off-beat portraits and humorous sketches on offer. We think the drawings looked even better realised in print, and it would appear we weren't the only ones - there were hardly any copies of the comic left by the time we went up to the till and purchased ours.

Luckily we managed to bag one and the author even signed it for us - thanks Becky! We look forward to Issue 2...
